Developing staff
Last summer we recruited Stace Buller, Alice Shuttlewood and Ashleigh Thomas into Business & Administration Advanced Apprenticeship positions with NHS Direct.
The following is an extract from a recent Case Study put together by the National Apprenticeship Service.
“NHS Direct is committed to developing and training its staff. The use of Apprenticeships is a new training route for the Bedfordshire office and it has enabled them to take on three young people in an administrative function as well as developing existing staff to become team leaders through the Adult Apprenticeship route. As well as boosting their training portfolio, the company is committed to helping employees realise their potential.”

“Apprenticeships are extremely
cost-effective.We had a level of
work ideally suited to young
people and the opportunity was
there to offer them training
positions. Apprenticeships proved
the ideal vehicle to combine work
and training and gives us a
different kind of employee.”

“Adult Apprenticeships is an exciting
new venture for our organisation
and one that we believe will be vital
in talent management and in
ensuring our staff are developed to
their full potential.”
